The Sheltered Workshop is designed to provide services and assistance to qualified mentally and physically disabled persons.  Students are trained in appropriate vocational work-related activities and basic life skills.  Local businesses provide work for the Sheltered Workshop (Step-Up Industries).  Students are paid on a piece rate basis.  The piece rates are derived from commensurate area wages and industry productivity norms.

The Adult and Community Education Department, in cooperation with ACT Corporation of Flagler/Volusia Counties, sponsors Step-Up Industries Vocational/Sheltered Workshops.
