Mary Gilbert was appointed the Director of Adult and Community Education in October of 2003.
Mary Gilbert taught elementary school in her home state of Missouri for 11 years. In 1989 she and her husband, Richard moved to Palm Coast, Florida where Richard began teaching Drafting and Architectural Drawing at Flagler Palm Coast High School. Mary began working for Adult Education as a teacher at the Adult High School in
Bunnell. After teaching there for over four years, she moved to the position of Community Education Coordinator at that center, overseeing all the programs offered there. In August of 1996, Mary applied for and was offered the vacant position of Adult Education Supervisor. In October of 2003, Mary was appointed as Director of Adult and Community Education, filling the slot vacated by Stephen V. Edwards on his move to Atlanta.
Mrs. Gilbert has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Southeast Missouri University and a M.S. in Education Leadership from Nova University. She has two grown children, both living in Florida. Mary enjoys boating, cooking, and being with her family.
